Services for James D. Hilger
James D. Hilger, 50, of Luverne, Minn., died Wednesday Sept. 29, 1993, in Laverne.
Services for Mr. Hilger were conducted Saturday Afternoon, Oct. 2, 1993 at St. Catherine's Catholic Church in Luverne, Minnesota with Father Eugene Eagen Officiating. Burial was at the parish cemetery.
The of of Walter P. and Bertha Birkel Hilger, James D. Hilger was born Aug. 4, 1943 in David City. He graduated for St. Mary's High School in 1961. He entered the guards in 1964, becoming a staff sergeant in the United States Army in 1968.
He was united in marriage to Renee Ruhland on Oct. 23, 1971, in Neptune, IA. After their marriage they lived in Sioux Falls, S.D. and Le Mars, IA for a short time before moving to Luverne, Minnesota in 1972. He became manager of Walnut Grove Warehouse for over 20 years.
He was a member of St. Catherine's Catholic Church, a member of Luverne VFW, an active volunteer for the Luverne Cub Scouts, and a United States Army Veteran of Vietnam.
He is survived by his wife, Renee Hilger of Luverne; four sons, Derrick, Brad, Greg, and Aaron Hilger all at home; his mother, Bertha Hilger of David City, NE; a brother and sister-in-law, Bill and Deb Hilger and a sister and brother-in-law, Cheri and Richard Krosch, all of Kingsley, Iowa.
He was preceded in death by his father, Walter Hilger.
